What is the Florida Park Neighbourhood Watch (FPNW)?
• The FPNW is a neighbourhood watch representing the 13 streets in our area; Louis Botha, William Nicol, Carnation, Iris, Hins Beeck, Grove, Mail, Dunn, Snell, Botes, Ontdekkers, Daniel Malan and Macmillan.
• The Florida Park Neighbourhood Watch has replaced the old Florida Park Community Forum, we are also no longer part of the Florida Block Watch as we decided it is more efficient to look after own area.
• Our meetings still take place on the second Monday of every month at the AGS Florida Park Gemeente Ker in Mail Street at 7pm.
• Membership is free
What have we accomplished so far?
• We have a committed patrol team, a democratic constitution with a dedicated committee
• A WhatsApp tool for communication, built a phone APP for emergencies, established a great partnership with the AGS Florida Park Gemeente
• We have fixed street lights, ensured that a mini substation was repaired and also had a Q&A with Dave Dewes
What are our future developments?
• To partner with a security company in terms of a 24/7 patrol vehicle, perform door to door visits on a regular basis, getting neighbours to know each other
• Have a family day for all the residents and build relationships with our local authorities as well as businesses in our area
FPNW Survey
The FPNW (Florida Park Neighbourhood Watch) is our neighbourhood watch representing the 13 streets in our area. We have replaced the old FPCF and have broken away from the Florida Block Watch. We would like you to assist us by completing this survey, the results of which will be communicated at our next members’ meeting on the 10th of November at the AGS Florida Park Gemeente Kerk in Mail Street at 7pm.
